Maya- Lifting The Veil

Speaking about the world before February 2020 when we had no idea of what was to happen on earth. I locked how the hypothetical situations are created and how God might have reacted if COVID-19 hit the earth during the times of Mahabharata.

I agree with the author when he says science has only two segments: the known and the unknown but religion has 3: the known, the unknown, and the unknowable. This book is basically a poetic dialogue between Arjuna and Krishna, with the modern-day COVID-19 crisis.

The author has tried to bring in a hypothetical situation where a man is deeply affected by the ongoing circumstances and how would God react in such a situation. This book heavily draws inspiration from famous historical sacred-texts.

Love this historical storytelling in the form of poetry, In his poem Kurukshetra, the author talks about how the battle was fought And then comes the hypothetical situation where Arjun child was tested positive for coronavirus. The rhyme scheme has been tried to maintain throughout the poetry which is a very refreshing and remarkable attempt.

The author has tried to highlight the pandemic situation, Where Arjun is represented as migrant labor who is deeply saddened by the death of his son. And then he talks about how society is competitive, the news around is negative and we live in poisoned soil.

The second part of the book comes where Arjun claims God to be biased, and they Discuss how the world Was based back then and still is. I love this mythological retelling in the form of poetry with the current COVID situation.
Krishna then talks about Maya or Illusion of this world which is filled with love, pain, and pleasure.

God tells Arjun that how would you know the value of peace and happiness unless he is sad. This was a fresh take on historical storytelling, with lessons and a modern-day twist. This book is recommended if you want to read something quirky and new out of the box with an element of history in it, in a form of poetry.
